A book, “MediaWiki Skins Design” by Richard Carter, is the first book I’ve read regarding MediaWiki templates design.
This book explains how to design and make attractive MediaWiki templates, it also presents many examples for using CSS to make the layout. The book is easy to read and follow, it’s a good guidance for who want to design MediaWiki templates with little MediaWiki experience.
